text_line_height_last_edited=&#8221;off|phone&#8221;]<strong>Entity Objects and Entity Types:<\/strong> <strong>Entities<\/strong>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>An entity is an object, person, place, organization, or another thing that has a business meaning and can be acted upon in your database<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Examples: person\u2019s name, company name, address, etc.,<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href='https:\/\/asha24.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/Informatica-MDM-Training-2.ppt' class='big-button bigblue'><strong><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\"> Get Free Informatica MDM Materials<\/span><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\r\n<strong>Entity Base Objects<\/strong>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>A Base object that stores HM entities<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Examples: C_PARTY base object<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<strong>Entity Types<\/strong>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>An entity type is a logical classification of one or more entities<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Entity types are stored in the C_RBO_BO_CLASS repository table<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Examples: Person and Organization Entity Types in the Party Base Object<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<strong>Relationship Objects and Types:<\/strong> <strong>Relationships<\/strong>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>An HM relationship describes the affiliation between two specific entities<\/li>\r\n \t<li>HM relationships are defined by specifying:\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Relationship Type<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Hierarchy Type<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Attributes<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Start and End Dates<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<strong>Relationship Base Objects<\/strong>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>A Base Object that stores HM relationships<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<strong>Relationship Types<\/strong>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>A relationship type is the general class of relationship to which a particular HM relationship belongs<\/li>\r\n \t<li>For example, if your database has two entity types, doctor and hospital, the HM relationship type between doctors and hospitals might be Resident or Consultant<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<strong>Hierarchies:<\/strong>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>HM hierarchies are sets\/groups of relationship types<\/li>\r\n \t<li>These relationship types are not ranked based on the place of the entities of the hierarchy, nor are they necessarily related to each other<\/li>\r\n \t<li>They are merely relationship types that are grouped together for ease of identification<\/li>\r\n \t<li>For example, you might group organization-to-individual and organization-to-community relationship under the hierarchy Scholarships<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Any individual relationship type can be included in any number of hierarchies<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<strong>HM Packages:<\/strong> <strong>Packages<\/strong>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>A package is a public view of one or more underlying tables in Informatica <a href=\"https:\/\/asha24.net\/blog\/informatica-mdm-hub-console-and-data-model\/\">MDM Hub<\/a><\/li>\r\n \t<li>It is based on a Query<\/li>\r\n \t<li>For each entity and relationship base object, you must create an MRM package containing all the base object columns that you wish users to see or modify<\/li>\r\n \t<li>You can then create HM packages based on this MRM package to allow users to see subsets of the MRM package columns<\/li>\r\n \t<li>For example, you could create a view to allowing users to see search columns only, or another view to show detail columns, or yet another view to show PUT columns, etc.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<strong>HM Profiles:<\/strong> <strong>Profiles<\/strong>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>In hierarchy manager, a profile is used to define user access to HM objects \u2013 what users can view and what the HM objects look like to those users<\/li>\r\n \t<li>It determines what fields and records an HM user may display, edit or add<\/li>\r\n \t<li>For example, there can be one Profile that allows full read\/write access to all entities and relationships and another Profile that is read-only<\/li>\r\n \t<li>HM profiles are assigned to users through MRM roles. Normally a user is only assigned a single role.
