Trello The Best Task Management Application – User’s Guide

As a company, we discovered Trello recently and so far it has been helping us get through our day to day activities with relative ease. Using this app is no rocket science and it’s easy to use features helped us explore it without much ado.
After all, does it not take something more uncomplicated than your clutter of chores to make it manageable? So, in here we use boards, cards, lists and a menu to get our stuff done. Sounds simple enough? The Board is a place where we put in facts and information about projects and tasks that we are planning to implement. It’s a collection of all that we have thought of and are thinking to do. There are different types of boards which can be created to suit your need:
  • Private
  • Public
  • Team.
Once the board is created you can assemble your tasks in an organized way that makes it look doable and maybe motivates you to get done with them soon. It’s a montage of all that we have thought of and are thinking to do. We use Lists which are akin to any other to-do list in which we enumerate and demarcate the progress of tasks. So to make things easier we divide the progress of a task like ‘to do’, ‘in progress’ and ‘finished’. This keeps us on our toes as we pace up to hit ‘finish’ before the other teams do. Similar to your usual placards, we use Cards to pen down ideas, tips and tricks. Usually brief, cards are like catchy phrases and you can tumble in more of those occasional creative insights and implement it whenever you can. You can drag and drop cards according to your priorities and keep on adding more without counting numbers. Forgetful of your usual sticky notes? No worries you can search and skim through them all, this app has it all saved. The Menu is this place where you can manage team members, their activities and what’s going on in the company as a collective. Needless to specify this the place to manage members, configure and filter cards and lists. On a normal working day, you will find it buzzing with activity. Besides these utilities, Trello is a great platform for peer review and discussion. You can swap and share documents instantly, finalize or improvise as you move along. For example, I as a team member save quite some time by sharing my work with my colleagues at once, reviewing or rectifying before finalizing the end result. So, drop your worries and organize!
